Caring for yourself is the key to living a well-balanced life. At AOC, our goal is to enhance your self-care, self-awareness, and self-esteem so you feel more confident and at ease. Coach Ingrid starts with the premise that the answers are inside of you—Sometimes it takes a guiding hand to uncover these and another’s eyes to see yourself clearly. Art of Connection provides life coaching and individual counseling to help you heal trauma and dysregulated emotions, build better relationships, clarify values and goals, and find direction during important life transitions. Our aim is to offer solutions-oriented, practical tools.
If you’re like most clients, you may be feeling distressed and overwhelmed. Coach Ingrid addresses this first, using mind-body tools like empathic listening, living inquiries, “parts” work, polyvagal practices, and the “hidden language of feelings,” to restore emotional regulation and provide relief. Nervous system regulation is essential to growth because you can’t think creatively or implement change when you’re stressed out.
Once you’re better anchored, you’ll be equipped to understand and repair painful patterns rather than simply repeating traumatic cycles. With Coach Ingrid’s help, you’ll uncover unmet needs and highlight the strengths and resources you already possess to create more of what you want in life. You’ll begin feeling better because you have integrated your wounded, insecure parts, freed up energy for becoming, not just “bandaiding,” and aligned with what you love.
Everything you share in our sessions is confidential; your feeling of safety is paramount. Bring an open mind and a willingness to discuss what’s been on your heart. To begin, we’ll get to know one another and compassionately explore your story. We’ll clarify what you’re hoping to gain and create a vision for how to get there. You’ll leave your first session with practical tools, a new perspective, and take-home resources.
Every individual is different. Some find meaningful progress after a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support. Coach Ingrid will discuss goals and frequency during your first appointment and tailor your sessions to your availability and budget. You should leave your first session with a sense of relief, feeling deeply heard and validated.
It takes a minimum of 3 sessions to identify dysfunctional patterns and apply new skills and resources. Results are cumulative. After 4 sessions, you’ll be better able to regulate your emotions (especially anxious ones) using somatic tools like breath work, sensory reorientation, tapping, and comforting of vulnerable parts. You’ll also be more equipped to respond to your feelings and needs, establishing greater self-connection and purpose.
Over time, you’ll build a new baseline of presence and “groundedness,” with growing joy and resilience to face whatever life brings.
