With over 20 years of experience in holistic wellness, communication coaching, and relationship building, Ingrid brings a steady, compassionate presence to all her counseling sessions. Her expertise is guiding motivated adults, adolescents, and families towards their “aha” moments of greater self-awareness, connection, freedom, and peace. Her genuine, down to earth approach put’s clients at ease.
Ingrid trusts that by embracing brokenness, we find wholeness.
As a young person she suffered from anxiety, depression, and panic attacks herself. Though close knit and loving, her family faced addiction issues and relational strife. Overcoming these negative patterns has been her life’s quest; in the process she’s honed the art of healthy, conscious living and joyful relationship. Her personal journey has inspired her calling to share these breakthrough tools with others, tools she’s learned from the inside out.
Besides her passion for personal growth and positive psychology, Ingrid is a community organizer and co-founder of Bloomington Peace Week: Giving People Tools to Make Peace. She is a lifelong animal welfare advocate and rescuer, flower and vegetable gardener, and a devotee of Dr. Riane Eisler and her Center for Partnership Systems. Ingrid firmly believes with patience and practice we can retrain our brains and our hearts to create the lives…and world… we dream of.
After undergraduate studies in psychology, gender, and dance at Indiana University, Ingrid Skoog went on to complete a certification with the Indianapolis Gestalt Institute in 1999. That same year, she completed an apprenticeship in energy healing, earning her Reiki Mastership. Then, in 2005, she finished comprehensive leadership training with The Center for Nonviolent Communication and BayNVC. Since then, she’s been a community mediator and teacher of Compassionate Communication.
In 2020 Ingrid became a Certified Relationship Coach and facilitator of the Living Inquiries, a somatic-based coaching process. She also brings 35 years’ experience as a massage therapist, serving a remarkably diverse clientele, from NFL players and competitive athletes to expectant moms and people living with chronic illness and/or undergoing treatments for life-altering diagnoses.
Mind-body connection and somatic awareness are integral to every facet of Coach Ingrid’s healing work. Besides therapeutic conversations, she incorporates neuroscience, attunement, nervous system regulation, and body wisdom into her sessions with couples, individuals, and families. She promotes well-being by teaching and practicing Authentic Movement/Movement Meditation and gears all sessions to her clients’ individual needs and abilities.
